James Anest has been seen across the United States in opera, musicals, and in concert solo.
His favorite roles include Belcore in The Elixir of Love, Papageno in The Magic Flute, Ford in The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Marcello in La Boheme. His musical roles include the Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance, El Gallo in The Fantasticks, and Emile deBecque in South Pacific.

Originally a farm boy who rode tractors and herded cattle in Nebraska, James has traded in his boots and jeans for fine wine and ocean breezes in Huntington Beach, California.

Steven Applegate prides himself on being a self-taught musician. He is a very sought-after musical director in Los Angeles, having worked with Bette Midler, Lorna Luft, Carol Channing, Sandy Duncan, and of course, The Singing Waiters.
His record producing credits include three original cast albums, two contemporary Christian albums, and his latest, Berlin to Babylon, featuring the music of Kurt Weill and Frederic Hollander.

Douglas Appleoff has been in front of audiences since his childhood piano recitals. After being awarded a Bachelors Degree in Musical Theatre, Doug has had parts in shows such as West Side Story, My Fair Lady, and Anything Goes starring Leslie Uggums. He has performed on cruise ships in Alaska and Hawaii and has acted in film and television. Doug enjoys the mountains, movies and arranging music for The Singing Waiters.

Dan Belzer, a native of North Dakota and graduate of Drake University, has been a musical director & accompanist in the LA area for such shows as Oliver! All Night Strut, and Definately Doris, among several others. Dan has also been seen in many national commercials and print ads that include Equal, Healthnet, AT&T, Toyota, and Sprint. He is an avid runner and competes in 5K races.

Dina Bennett, originally from Louisiana, began her musical career at an early age as a pianist for local productions, recordings, and ballet classes where she was also a principal dancer. Some of her musical theatre credits include Carousel, Baby, Pippin, and Chess.

Dina has a Bachelor of Arts degree and often sings with Los Angeles area bands, for Walt Disney productions, and studio recordings when not touring with The Singing Waiters. |

Donna Brown has a difficult time trying to remember ever wanting to be anything other than a performer. Originally from Indiana, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in theatre and music at the University of Evansville. She has toured with Engelbert Humperdink, starred in the Will Rogers Follies on the SS Norway, and performed six years at Universal Studios in Hollywood. Be prepared for anything with Donna; laughing is one of her favorite activities.

Anita DeSimone, lovingly known as Pepper, made her mainstage debut in1998 as Elvira in the San Diego Opera porduction of L'Italiana in Algeri. In San Diego she also sang the lead in a world premier opera, Burning Dreams. She has covered the roles of Lisa in Countess Maritza and Hero In Beatrice and Benedict, as an apprentice for Santa Fe Opera. For Opera Pacific, she covered the lead role in La Fille du Regiment.

Saif Eddin is an accomplished singer, pianist, musical director and producer. He has had the pleasure of performing with the Singing Waiters since 1997. He gets a chance to show off his singing and musical skills in various nightclubs from LA to Chicago, and was most notably Michael Crawford's understudy in the Las Vegas show EFX.

| Michael Farrell began his piano studies at the early age of 5. He has since progressed to jazz and rock combos, classical recitals, and playing for musical theatre. In 1991 he spent a year in New Zealand as a Fulbright Scholar and received a Masters Degree in politics. The following year at Syracuse University, he received another Masters Degree in TV, radio and film. In 1993, Michael moved to Los Angeles pursuing a career in musical composition. Michael has toured with headliners such as Vanessa Carlton, Macy Gray, and Morrissey. |

Donald Giddings was born in Dallas, Texas where he began singing at the early age of 2 and performed in his first staged musical by age 12. After graduating from Richmond College, Donald moved to southern California where he has had roles in Evita, Dream Girls, and Bye Bye Birdie. He has appeared on several television shows and can often be seen in Los Angeles nightclubs as a featured vocalist.

Terri Hill, our award winning soprano, comes from Ashland Oregon. She has received a Bachelor of Music degree from Cal State Northridge where she sang lead parts in The Coronation of Poppea, The Magic Flute, and Die Fledermaus, conducted by Victor Borge. Terri has sung in many LA Opera productions including Norma and Tosca and was featured in the world premier of Nikolas and Alexandra.

Daniel Lishner was born into show business, his father being an opera singer and his mother a Broadway dancer. Dan has done everything from film & TV (L.A. Law, Bold & the Beautiful) to stand-up comedy (opening for Dana Carvey & Ray Charles), to commercials and national tours of musical productions.
Daniel first sang with The Singing Waiters in 1992 and now has his home in New York City.

Alysa Lobo is a graduate of the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts. She has been singing and dancing in the acclaimed Los Angeles area productions of Play On, and All Night Strut. Other musicals include Ain't Misbehavin', West Side Story, Sophisticated Ladies, and the world premiere of Daily News, for which she won a Robby Award. Her TV credits include 413 Hope Street and The Keenan Ivory Wayans Show.

Lucia Lynn, an award winning soprano originally from Minnesota, was a featured soloist with the Mississippi Symphony, singing Purcell and Handel. She was also featured in the premiers of Snow Queen with the La Jolla Symphony and The Collapse of Bel Canto for the Armand Hammer Museum's New Music Series in LA. Lucia had her debut with the Guild Opera of Los Angeles in the title role of Seymour Barab's Little Red Riding Hood.

Lydia Lyons sailed the Caribbean for two years as the featured singer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines' production shows. She has also enjoyed performing in Europe, Japan, and all over the U.S. doing Broadway and review shows. While studying for her Bachelor of Arts degree, she appeared on several television shows and commercials. Her first love is the stage, recreating roles like Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Nancy in Oliver, and Anita in West Side Story.

Grant Matthews was born and raised on the island of Maui before pursuing his career as an actor-singer-and often waiter in Los Angeles. He received most of his training as a performer in college achieving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Acting. Grant has appeared in many stage roles, on the soap operas The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives, and has sung back-up on several recordings. With the small amount of time he has left, he enjoys his work as a DJ, spinning music of all kinds.

Christy Mauro lives in Florida with her husband David, another pianist with The Singing Waiters, and their two children. Her extensive stage work includes Maria in Sound of Music, Eliza in My Fair Lady, Eva in Evita, and Sally Bowles in Cabaret.
She has performed her own one-woman act in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and on cruise ships, and has opened for Jackie Mason and Jennifer Holliday.

John Racca, a member since 1993, brings to the Singing Waiters the experience of performing on four continents, including a tour of South Amercia with the Ray Conniff Singers and a tour of Taiwan in Evita. US tours include Jesus Christ Superstar, Meet Me in St. Louis starring Debby Boone, She Love Me, starring Pam Dawber, and Man of La Mancha starring Robert Goulet.

| John's favorite leading roles in musicals across the country include Curly in Oklahoma, Tony in West Side Story, Cliff in Cabaret, Charlie in Brigadoon, and Billy Crocker in Anything Goes. He has also been seen on the popular soap General Hospital. |

| Kurt Raimer was born and raised near Portland, Oregon where he went on to receive his degree in music. He has performed many roles in musical theatre throughout the US and has traveled to over 70 countries singing on Silversea Cruises. Kurt now lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, enjoying work in real estate with his wife Beth and fishing in his time off. |

Bob Remstein is a keyboardist, composer, and producer. He often accompanies singers and provides music for improv comedy groups in Los Angeles. Currently, Bob is performing with the retro-pop band Mello Cads as well as Bollywood revivalists, the Bombay Rhythm Connnection and actress Weba Garretson. He has co-produced CDs for the Cads as well as singer/songwriter Jamie Solow, and the debut CD from vocalist Rashida Shah. He was recently commissioned to compose a 9-piece Sacred Service by Congregation B'nai B'rith in Santa Barabara.

Frank Salerno hails from the suburbs of Chicago. He studied and performed in Las Vegas with many local headliners including Wayne Newton, Joe Williams, and Don Menzz even before his graduation from the University of North Texas Jazz Studies program. Frank has done musical arrangements for corporate showbands, been a pianist for L.A. area ballet companies, and played for Walt Disney live productions.

| After working at Devonshire Recording Studios: THX, Frank continues to compose commercial jingles and cartoon shorts while also performing live at top jazz venues. |

| David Scott draws upon his many years of piano training and performance to provide The Singing Waiters with the accompaniment necessary for their multiple musical styles. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, he received his Bachelors Degree in Music from Berkley College of Music in Boston. While in Los Angeles, David has played in musical theatre and local jazz clubs while writing scores for TV and film. David now resides in Miami, Florida with his wife, Christy Mauro. |

Stacey Scotte is currently a resident of New York City. Having grown up in Corvallis, Oregon,
she made her professional debut as a singing telegram messenger during high school in Phoenix. She attended Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music and went directly from school to perform at Walt Disney World. She spent several years in Los Angeles, where she had varied (and sometimes offbeat) performing experiences, including appearances as a dancing peach at conventions; puppeteering with the world-renowned Bob Baker Marionette Theater; appearing on The Gong Show, and as Betty Rubble (and sometimes Wilma) in the Flintstones Show at Universal Studios.

Her NY credits include a workshop of a new musical about Lena Horne, starring Leslie Uggams, and three Off-Broadway plays, Strictly Personal, Eat The Runt and Boobs! The Musical! Favorite regional theatre roles include Amy (Company), Ado Annie (Oklahoma!), Carrie (Carousel), Agnes (Agnes of God), Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz) and Winthrop (The Music Man)
She has worked with such stars as Theodore Bikel, Juliet Prowse and JoAnne Worley. She was principal performer for Silver Seas cruise line and saw much of the world on her journeys by sea. Film credits include Me and Will and Looking For Someone. Television appearances include The Practice, Perfect Strangers, Unsolved Mysteries, Zoobilee Zoo, and numerous commercials.

Mandy Vejar is a native Californian and has been part of our group since 1992. Her theatre credits include Maria in West Side Story, Yum Yum in The Mikado, Rose in The Secret Garden, and Glinda in The Wiz. She has toured in Taiwan with the Chicago Pops Orchestra, performing selections from Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera. Mandy was featured on the soundtrack for the feature film Girl and was a guest star on the TV show 3rd Rock from the Sun. She is the wife of one of our pianists, Michael Farrell.

Gregg Whitney appeared as Douglas Moore on Broadway in Meet Me in St. Louis. He also played Tony in the National and International touring productions of West Side Story. His film credits include Girls Will Be Girls and Hurt Me Again...Stupid. On TV, he can be seen in a variety of commercials and soaps.

Ann Winkowski, originally from Wisconsin, has performed extensively in southern California and across the U.S. in over 50 musical productions with stars such as John Raitt, Joanne Whorley, and Juliet Prowse.
She has been a star herself in Guys and Dolls, Camelot, Kismet, and Pirates of Penzance, just to name a few.
Ann has also worked with the Walt Disney company in southern California, in Tokyo, and for several television specials.

Silvie Zamora has trained at the Oxford School of Drama, South Coast Repertory, the Grove Shakespeare Festival, and ComedySportsLA. She has directed and coached for Mystery Cafe dinner theatre in several of its locations. Her stage credits include Sarah in Guys and Dolls, Edith in Pirates of Penzance, and the Stepmother in Cinderella.
